I Haven’t Written about the Jihadi war Against Israel Lately –
By G.P. Gottlieb
I’ve been depressed that hostages are still being starved and tortured in hidden homes and tunnels in Gaza, disturbed by the numbers of morally confused people who don’t understand the difference between global jihad and Israel defending itself, and bewildered that so many citizens of free nations do not understand that Iran and its proxies hate their countries too.
I’m upset that Israel’s government hasn’t been able to make a hostage deal and horrified at the number of innocent deaths: Palestinians, Jews, Israeli Arabs, Druze, and citizens of other countries — this war could have ended long before if Hamas had returned the hostages. This war wouldn’t have erupted if Hamas hadn’t attacked Israel on October 7, 2023.
But Hamas wanted this war, wanted its citizens to die, and wanted global sympathy for its cause. They’ve been clear about that. If only the deaths of their leaders had been sufficient impetus to return the hostages and end the war.
I’m still seeing occasional ignorant and nasty responses to some of my previous essays, and though I will not engage in conversation with those who simply hate and vilify Israel, I sometimes use their vitriol to format a response.
Is it worth responding in any way? The haters are going to keep hating. Those who don’t think Israel deserves to exist are going to keep arguing against its existence. Those who glorify and excuse terrorism are going to keep glorifying and excusing. They’ll have to answer to their own consciences. Nothing I say is going to change their minds.
That’s why I’m publishing this in the Judean People’s Front (with thanks to Reuben).
I’m writing for those of you who understand the complexity of Middle East politics. I’m speaking to those of you who understand Islam’s laws against the land they’ve conquered being reclaimed by original inhabitants. I’m reaching out to educate people who grasp the underlying reasons that Arab countries have refused the absorption of Palestinian refugees and continued the fight against the only Jewish country in the world.
Here’s a glimpse of hateful musing (this girl’s response was too long, silly, and rambling to quote in its entirety). She’s very upset about the pictures coming out of Gaza, you know, the ones from the Hamas Health Ministry, those bastions of truth who round up numbers of dead, use pictures from previous wars in other countries, include pictures of dead terrorist fighters who shot rockets from under schools, behind mosques and other highly concentrated areas.
She writes: “How many rockets and missiles has Israel sent into Gaza? How many into Lebanon? Why is Israel the only one allowed to “retaliate” and yet their opponents are called “terrorists” for their retaliatory response? Hezbollah made it clear — stop bombing Gaza and they will stop sending tickets — Israel’s response: kill all the negotiators. Why is the only method of clearing alleged weapons caches to blow up entire buildings? I’ll answer this last one for you — to destroy evidence of no evidence and to use USA $s for construction demo (aka carpet bombing) to clear the way for their own future construction.”
She’s angry that Israelis whine about being displaced (because of daily rocket fire from all sides). Is there any country in the world that would allow itself to be obliterated by Iranian rockets and drones, some sent directly from Iran, others from its proxies? She says that she spent the last year reading articles about Israel, and her decision based on all that reading seems to be that it should be obliterated.
I wonder if she knows that she’s not the first person in history to decide that Jews don’t deserve to live.
Did she cheer during and after the Hamas massacre and kidnappings on October 7, 2023?
Did she see any of the Hamas videos in which terrorists bragged about raping, mutilating, and executing innocent families?
Did she notice when Iran shot hundreds of ballistic missiles into Israel in April and October, and was she upset the other countries that helped block those rockets?
Is she aware of what Houthi rebels, Hamas, and Hezbollah are doing in their attempts to destroy Israel, and who funds all these proxy terrorist groups?
Does she want to live in a world in which terrorists decide who should live and who should die?
Sorry to all the Jew-haters itching to prove how educated they re, but I’m not going to debate the question of Israel’s right to exist — Israel is going to survive and those who wish for its downfall will one day join the ranks of all those who were on the wrong side of history.
The world is a better place because of Israel’s existence.

"The world is a better place because Israel is in it". I'd elaborate more. The world is a better place because Jews are in it.
Just what I needed to start the weekend.
You are so right about not wasting our efforts on those who are entrenched in their hatred or relentless in the misguided facts irrespective of showing them otherwise.
People like you who have an ability to write well should devote your time and efforts in waking up the silent majority, showing them that our fight is their fight as well, to write essays that speak to our non-Jewish allies. We are less that 1% of world population and without the support of our non-Jewish allies throughout history, we would not have survived.
You say very eloquently how tired you are of talking to those who wont listen. I can tell you as a reader, I am so tired of reading how we are not committing genocide, how we are not colonizers, How we are not starving Palestinians, How we are not trying to kill civilians etc. How many essays are we going to read on basically the same pig in different packaging?
Time for the writing to expand and whenever possible to include a call to action. Not only are your readers more hip to what is going on, I also think they are also people that want to get involved.
We are getting killed in the PR war and it is because we dont spend our efforts and use our talents in more meaningful endeavors.
Keep up the good fight
