"...you can’t spell America without ME and I...." A great line, perfectly fitting for perhaps the most egotistical country to ever exist.

Ironic that the posters say "Palestine Restoration Fund" and "Help him build Palestine". Any insight on why the early Zionists would use that terminology?

Because the region was called Palestine. The region.

The name “Israel” was declared only at independence.

Interesting article, thank you for your work.

May I suggest that “Objectivism the Philosophy of Ayn Rand”, and her moral code of rational egoism represent a radical departure from conventional schools of morality.

Her philosophical system is presented in her fiction works, including “The Fountainhead”, and “Atlas Shrugged”, and in her nonfiction works including, “Capitalism, the Unknown Ideal”, “Philosophy-Who Needs It”, “The Virtue of Selfishness”, and “The Romantic Manifesto”, to name a few.

I cannot agree. “Zionism” is a pre-1948 historic usage, meaning the belief that there should be a Jewish state in Zion. It’s obviously obsolete now because there is one.

Well...I disagree to a degree (lol). Zionism has simply evolved in terms of its meaning. To me, its about Jews having a homeland called Israel. To be a Zionist is to believe Israel has a right to exist as a Jewish nation.

Tell me, what’s the word to believe China has a right to exist as a Chinese nation?

More pertinent...what's the word for Tibet nationalism? Is it Bod rang btsan? Would this movement cease to exist if independence was achieved? Or would it evolve to continue fight against Chinese aggression?

I presume Tibetan patriotism would be like that of any other country, and would oppose aggression against itself.

If there is a separate word for a wish to create an independent Tibet, that would of course obsolete as soon as there is one.

Not at all. All I want is the death of every single Hamasnik, Hezbollaboy, Houthi, Fatahnik, and similar, everyone in the Iranian army, navy, air force, and revolutionary guard corps, and intelligence network, and every other jihadist on the planet. That’s all. Nothing but that.

This hit the nail on the head: "We have so much comfort and convenience in our lives that our lives have lost all meaning." That is one of the big differences between the US and Israel. In the US, we are so saturated with comfort and convenience (and luxury) there is little to strive for, except for more of the same. Until recently, there was little danger to worry about. In Israel, although much has been accomplished, the level of comfort and convenience does not equal the US. And, then there is the danger, which always exists, even when war is not being fought. In the US, we read (unless our schools have dangerously hidden it) about the Patriots fighting for their nation and for their lives. In Israel, 76 years after the founding of the modern state, they are still fighting. We have, very sadly, lost our love of country, our patriotism. Israelis are in love with Israel. What makes both countries alike is the planned destruction of their countries. Israelis have the fighting spirit. Will Americans regain theirs?

Excellent article. Thank you from a Canadian who fully supports the rights of Jews everywhere in the world and the existence of Israel.
