I understand some people veer firmly on the side of hate. Often I feel that way too. How could there possibly be any peace with a people wanting nothing more than the total eradication of Jews from Israel. But surely we are in danger of racism when we homogenise a group of people. We see that time and time again with the Jews.

This world needs compassion. It's what we, as a people, do best.

I honestly don't know who would help Israel better in the long-term, Harris or Trump. It's not my vote, so I've remained on the fence throughout the debate. I don't live in the US but many of the JPF contributors do. I respect all their opinions and will present their view even when I disagree.

Asking for a peaceful resolution, empathy and our help to rebuild a broken nation is the least we can do. I stand firmly with Israel and will continue to call for the annihilation of Hamas.

Agreed. You don’t have to be a Trump fan at all to understand that Kamala Harris words are nothing but empty shells in order to please and appease the traditional Democratic Jewish voters. She attended the Zelensky speech, so not showing up for Bibi was a big tell. Why not show up for the hostages and their families even if you dislike Bibi? It was a calculated move to not alienate the Muslim voters, pure and simple. By the way, it’s worthwhile looking into her husband’s money connections with Qatar and paying attention to the numerous visit to Islamic centers where she has been declaring that “we need to get rid of this ugly word Radical Islam”. She is as naive - or dangerous - to the Middle East as it gets. I’ll send you the link - it happened at a center where radical Islamists had murdered a teacher. Unreal.

Hate Trump all you want - don’t make the mistake to believe a word Harris says. She’ll throw Israel under the bus at any point if it suits her. Trump initiated Abraham Accords - not her. Credit is due. He is capable of fulfilling it - not her.

Palestinians deserve a home and dignity? I think that is what the nova music festival attendees wanted for them, but 80% of the Palestinians thought Israelis got what they deserved. Furthermore Harris and Walsh cavort with some pretty unsavory folks—CAIR leaders, imams, those who call for campus mayhem and BDS. I absolutely do not believe that 85% of Jews will vote for the destruction of Israel that is an effect of the positions supported by the left.

Expand full comment

I don't even think it's true that Palestinians (or at least their leadership) want their own state. They've had at least five opportunities for that. What they want is for Israel to be destroyed. That's it. They'd rather not have a state, than for the Jews to have one in Israel.

The Obama/Biden/Harris “cult” did Iran a big favor- freeing up tons of $$ and thus enabling Iran to better fund its proxies- Hamas Houthis etc. .. equipping them to attack Israel, as Iran also did directly this year. There’s also the weak nuclear deal .

Tons of Aid sent to Gaza by Biden administration didn’t reach “civilians” but rather it aided Hamas.

If elected, Harris will continue all of the above.

No thanks.

It’s not sincere compassion for both sides, it’s calculating how to keep votes. She chooses her words very carefully .

I’m not sure where your optimism regarding Harris and Israel comes from…

To quote your own writing:

“Harris was asked a question that implied Israel was committing genocide, and Harris, while empathizing with Palestinian suffering, stood firm that Hamas was unjustified in their terror campaign.”

Hmm… So… Let’s see…

A. She didn’t outright stand up against the preposterous “Genocide” blood libel?

B. To double check her real opinion on this -

In another interview, she specifically claimed “there are far too many civilian deaths in Gaza” -

basically implying the IDF is not discriminating between Hamas and civilians (another outright blood libel) and disregarding that the civilian to militant ratio is actually much better than in any modern urban war (definitely those waged by the US & the UK (Afghanistan, Iraq, ISIS))

C. In another interview- she claimed Israel is imposing unnecessary restrictions on aid delivery - another exaggeration for her base.

Hamas have actually been recorded over the phone saying they don’t have enough room to store all the aid they’re stealing from Gazans and that they have to throw it away.

D. Her step-daughter, Emma Emhoff is a Pro-Pal leftie “it-girl” with all the “right” gen. Tiktok cred.

E. Her VP pick Waltz claimed the Pro-Pal rioters are “demonstrating for all the right reasons”

(i.e., for the burning of the American flag and the chants for pushing Israelis to the sea)

F. She’s heavily endorsed by the “Squad’s” Rashida Tlaib, Ilhan Omar, etc., basically endorsed by outright terror supporters and most likely is Ayatollah Khamenei’s chosen candidate.

As much as some people might dislike Trump’s unpredictability, this woman is definitely frightening as hell for Israel + her lack of knowledge about foreign affairs, and about the world outside Washington and California is quite shocking + the long list of her Obama-era Iran sympathizing aids and advisors is also very un-comforting

Reuben - please spare us all from reading anything from Jeff Kass in the future. Everyone is entitled to free speech and expression here on Substack .... but what a bunch of garbage!

I refer all readers to Jon Rosen's "What Sept 11th Revealed" which appeared here on Substack (9/11/24 @ 8:06am) I also refer all readers to two referenced articles by Mr Rosen: (on radical Islam)

1. Killing in the Name by Jeffrey Herf

2. The Perennial Power of the Nakba by Hussein Aboubakr Mansour

There will no peace in the MidEast until terror tyrannical regime of Iran is defeated. Iran foments much (if not all) of the instability in the MidEast by financing all of its proxy terror groups which currently surround much of Israel. Iran's goal is to control all of the area from the Persian Gulf to the Mediterranean, and if you don't realize this, then you're an absolute moron.

Israel's war against radical Islamic terrorism (sorry Kamala) is not about Palestinian statehood or a two State solution. Rather, it sole purpose is to fight for her very survival against these modern day Haman's.

The record of our two presidential candidates couldn't be CLEARER:

The Obama, Biden and Harris (failed) MidEast foreign policy has directly led (100%) to this current scenario.

Under four years of Trump, Iran was financially crippled and NO WARS. Jerusalem is the Capital, Israel has sovereignty over the Golan Heights and the Abraham Accords!!

I struggle with the prospect of voting for Trump but likely will do so because post 10/7 my top priorities are Israel and American Jewry. Here are, point by point my concerns with respect to Kamala and Israel:

1. Assuming she wins, she will want to be re-elected in 2028. She cannot alienate the progressive base of her party who are increasingly pro-Palestininan and anti-Israel. This means she will continue to push for a two state solution and will look away from the anti-Israel, anti-Jewish rioters that all support her.

2. Regardless of how you feel about Bibi (I'm not a fan), the Palestininans do not want a two state solution. We know it, the GOP knows it and the Palestinians know it (they tell us every chance they get). The people who don't seem to know it tend to be liberal Democratic voters. Whether Harris naively believes there is a two state solution is unknown but because of her base she almost certainly will use that as a hammer to pound Israel into pursuing policies that will compromise its security or if they fail to do so will cause further international isolation of the Jewish state. As Israeil pushes back on the canard of a two state solution, a Harris administration will pull back on military support and diplomatic cover for Israel. Tim Walz has already said as much.

3. Rumors that she will appoint Phil Gordon as her Secretary of State and Maher Bitar as her DNI are frankly terrifying. If you don't know who these people are, you should. As a college student, Bitar was the president of Students for Justice in Palestine...the national chapter. Gordon is a strong proponent of the two state solution and has some very questionable and troubling ties to Iran.

4. Whatever you may think of Joe Biden, his Iran policy has been a failure. The US has released billions of dollars of US held Iranian funds that have been used to supply Iranian terrorist proxies in their war against the West and Israel. Without getting into whether Trump's abrogation of the JCPOA sped up or slowed down their nuclear breakout, it is clear that Biden's failure to confront Iran has fueled and facilitated the hegemonic, genocidal ambitions of the Islamo facist state of Iran. Don't expect that to change under a Harris administration. Again, a liberal Democrat who wants to serve 8 years as President is not going to bomb Iran or actively try and overthrow the Ayatollahs in her first term in office. Iran is weeks if not days away from getting the bomb (missile).

5. I take no comfort in the fact that Kamala goes to bed every night with her Jewish husband. Doug Emhoff has married out twice, managed to raise two children who do not identify as Jewish, one of whom raised millions for UNWRA. His law firm is well know for representing Palestininan interests here in the US. His taking on the mantle of "defender in chief" of the Jews is little more, imo, than Melania's "Be Best" campaign. Based on all of the above, I am concerned that he is her sounding board for what is good for the Jews and good for Israel. We Jews love the prospect of one our own sleeping next to the most powerful person on the face of the earth that we fail to focus on, understand or even ask what he really knows of communal Judaism and the realities of the Middle East. I fear he is not who we hope he is.

6. Her hiding from the press and refusal to take challenging questions about matters such as these only confirms my worst fears about what her policies will mean for American Jews and Israel.

Islam is different.

In Nazism and Shintoism, once you’ve gained military victory AND the leaders of the “cult” stood down (/ cowardly committed suicide) re-education could take place.

This is not the case for Islam and Jihadism.

Muhammed, alas, cannot be killed twice

and even if Hamas and its leader are fully destroyed, you cannot re-educate the population by vanishing every single copy of the Quran and the Hadith which specifically contain calls for the murder of Jews and infidels.

Even if Gaza were to somehow magically become a place full of life, butterflies and unicorns -

a shining and modern “Neom” style city -

re-built with the help of the Saudis and the UAE

and holding a “new & improved” version of the Quran + new children textbooks which do not brainwash children into performing genocide on Jews and infidels -

Israel will still have somehow “re-educate” Iran, Hizzbollah, the Houthis, Syria, Turkey, Jordan, Egypt, etc., etc., etc.

Unfortunately Islam is very different in it’s “viral” spreading methods than Nazisms or other (modernized) religions (e.g., Nazism has no apostasy or blasphemy rules, has no eternal and unchangeable “divine source”, etc.)

Yuval Noah Hararri, which, as a historian, somehow astonishingly seems to forget any massacre of jews performed by Islam before the 1920s, tries to sell that it is all about the “stories” and belittles Islam’s danger to Jews or to the world.

I’m afraid the “Islamic story”, unlike other less thought out inventions such as Nazism, is a way too rooted story

and sways the heart of far too many around the world to suddenly vanquish into thin air, even in the course of several generations

Expand full comment

Nonsense, Islam is defeated by crushing Iran, as a start, and making it clear that if you stand against western values, you will be next. The issue is proper governance, separation of church and state. America understood that once, that needs to be understood once again, and fought for.America is the most powerful military force in existence, understanding that America is morally correct is what is required to put an end to tyranny in the world. And, NO, the war against Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan was not somehow different that our war against Islamic Totalitarianism. Japan and Germany came quickly to know that they had taken the wrong goddam path, when they were left standing on ash heaps. Unconditional defeat and unconditional surrender worked miracles before, and will do so again.

You are correct George,

We’re just talking different timelines here.

I definitely agree on the amount of force needed and on the need for taking down the Ayatollahs in Iran.

In fact, the fact that the US hasn’t even tackled the Houthis for disrupting world trade is laughable (if not completely malign).

What I’m saying about Islam being an eternal issue is that even if Israel (/ Israel together with the US) take down Iran - the non-Islamic world will have to stay on guard and continue fighting, because the struggle is an endless struggle.

And I’m not speaking metaphysically here…

The fact is that Islam is a warring ideology and will always spring back up and continue its quest for the subjugation and slaying of infidels. You can not delete so many verses out of a book and expect more than a billion people, in more than 50 countries, to follow through.

It may take longer for “radical” Islam to come back with force but eventually, once it will gain enough fire power (& power these days can be distributed and also held by a small number of people by the use of drones, small nuclear devices, bioweapons, AI, etc.) that power will be used.

Take ISIS, which is coming back, after supposedly being destroyed… It will continue springing back up from the ashes - like a Buraq

To put it another way -

Nazism and Japanese Imperialism were centralized while Islam is decentralized

Expand full comment

It has been allowed to spread, by failing to understand its nature. George W. Bush went to war in Afghanistan while declaring Islam to be a “religion of peace”, which had been hijacked by radical elements.

The West must come to understand that Western Civilization is good, why it is good, and why any mixture of church and state is evil and immoral. And, then act on that.

The Nazis and the Imperial Japanese found a new road quickly when their countries were turned to ash heaps. That is the lesson the West must rain down upon Islamic Totalitarianism. It is not a question of military power, it is a question of morality.

Expand full comment

Agreed. It cannot stop with Gaza, however. Islamic Totalitarian must be made to join the ash heap of previous evil passions, including Nazi Germany and the Imperial Japanese. The "right kind of government"? And what would that be? A Western-style democracy with equal rights for women? How do you plan to square that with Sharia? Gaza voted in Hamas. The West Bank would if they were allowed to.

Any help or security the Israelis offer the Palestinians would be seen as oppressive and controlling. The only parties that could, and probably should, step in if only to solve their mutual problem with terrorism bleeding across the border into their own countries are Egypt and Jordan. Egypt has a competent army and a limited sense of humor. They could provide security until some semblance of a real government is up and running and would take out the trash and troublemakers with efficiency while they're at it. A third party, possibly Saudia Arabia, could handle the rebuilding funds. Under no circumstances should one single dime go through the corrupt UN or even more corrupt UNRWA. No cash payments to any groups or NGO's to prevent funds from being diverted, yet again, for tunnels, missiles, and lavish lifestyles for terrorist leaders. Contracts to international firms for the construction of utilities, infrastructure, and housing. Get the people the power, water, sewer systems, irrigation and housing they need and deserve so that they don't have to live on top of one another and can finally start farming and exporting, support themselves and finally get a chance to create a society without terrorists having a knife at the throat of the people who, after 70 years, just want peace for themselves and their children.

The West is at war with Islamic Totalitarianism. The savages know that. The West needs to come to know that. This is not a war on terror. It is a war on an evil ideology. So, no, NOTHING SQUARES WITH SHARIA LAW, JUST AS NOTHING SQUARED WITH NAZI GERMANY’S IDEOLOGY, OR THE IDEOLOGY OF IMPERIAL JAPANESE. SO, FOR A JUST PEACE THE LOSERS DON’T GET TO VOTE ON WHETHER THE PEOPLE HAVE RIGHTS ON NOT. WESTERN CIVILIZATION RECOGNIZES THAT INDIVIDUAL RIGHTS MUST BE RESPECTED IN ORDER TO HAVE A PROPER GOVERNMENT.

GET IT?

AND, YES, COEXISTENCE OF THE WEST WITH ISLAMIC TOTALITARIANISM IS NOT POSSIBLE., WHEREVER IT EXISTS. PERIOD.

THE WAR WILL END WHEN THOSE WHO PROMOTE ISLAMIC TOTALITARIANISM UNCONDITIONALLY SURRENDER.

Expand full comment

True, Western coexistence with Islamic Totalitarianism isn't possible. But, if the Palestinians are happy with and willing to embrace and sacrifice their children to Islamic Totalitarianism, there isn't going to be anything the Israelis or the West are going to be able to do about it.

The only ones who will be able to do anything about it are other Islamists. Only they can step in and tell the Palestinians to knock that s$%t off or we're going to knock it off for you. Hence, the need for intervention by Jordan and Egypt. They have nearly as much to lose as Israel. The terrorism breed in Gaza and the West Bank has been used to destabilize both Jordan and Egypt in the past. The other Arab countries strenuously object to Israeli Jews killing Palestinians. They don't give a c#$p if Jordan or Egypt does it.

If October 7th had happened to Egypt instead of Israel, their army would have swept across the border en mass the next day. They would have started rounding up Hamassholes and Hamasshole-adjacent people and shooting them until someone gave up the location of the hostages and rescued them. Anyone they could find that had even the faintest stench of Hamas would have been shot, tossed off a building, or hung from a crane. Then they would have imploded every tunnel they could find and swept back across the border, slamming the door to their large and impressive border wall shut on the smoking crater behind them. And no one would have said anything. Possibly a "strongly worded memo" from the UN.

I would sooner believe that Arafat kept kosher and loved nothing more than a nice corned beef sandwich at Katz's Deli than I'd believe that Kamala Harris has any principles besides gaining and keeping power. When has she not talked out of both sides of her mouth? When has she risked anything to protect Jews or Israel or even to take a stand against all the Jew hate breaking out on American campuses? What tangible act has she committed to protect American Jews?

I think we all do ourselves a disservice when we degrade and devalue the idea of real leadership. Any competent, principled public figure who really cared and wanted to help would at the very least have to oppose all the evil lies circulating, which include all the greatest hits from "genocide" to "apartheid" to the IDF committing war crimes to "settler colonialism" etc—especially when those lies are coming from your side and are spread by people in your own party. Yet Kamala risks nothing and says nothing outside of prepared platitudes.

I understand hating Trump and refusing to vote for him; I understand holding out hope that someday the Palestinians will choose peaceful coexistence over bloodshed, and I understand working toward this; but placing any hope or confidence in a political hologram like Kamala Harris is delusional and can only lead to disappointment (or worse).
